Sam is passionate about games and has worked on several indie games as both a composer and sound designer. With his background as a jazz musician, he has found parallels between live improvisation and writing music for games, and over the years has developed a unique way of composing for games, using the softwares Wwise and FMOD to create ever-evolving soundtracks which vary each time they are played. Always within the same sonic world that Sam has built but with subtle differences, making the music feel at once both familiar and new. He has been influenced and inspired by other game composers using these techniques to great effect such as Joe Acheson (Creaks), Noboru Motuh (Tetris Effect) and Todd Baker (Alto’s Odyssey, Dreams).
